Garden and Sculpture Park

”Second to the arts, I think flowers are my greatest joy,” Prince Eugen wrote in a letter in 1901.

A visit to the beautiful park and garden at Waldemarsudde is a treat for many senses and offers more than a century old garden history. The design of the garden determined by Prince Eugen, is still managed according to the Prince’s instructions and directions.

The park is also rich in sculptures, all of them bought by Prince Eugen, often with specific sites in mind.

Prince Eugen’s Art Collection

Prince Eugen was an art collector of note, with special emphasis on Nordic and French art. The Collections number around 7,000 works and comprise painting, sculpture and crafts objects.

The Painting Collection includes works by Ernst Josephson, Anders Zorn, Julia Beck, Isaac Grünewald, Sigrid Hjertén and Sven X:et Erixson. International artists such as Edvard Munch and Auguste Rodin are also represented.

Throughout the year, a selection of Prince Eugen’s own art and works from the Collections, are on display.

The Museum Shop

In the Museum Shop, you will find exhibition catalogues, a wide selection of art- and garden books, postcards, reproductions and other objects related to the museum, as the popular flowerpot WALDEMARSUDDEKRUKAN®, designed by Prince Eugen himself.
The Museum Shop has the same opening hours as the museum. It is also possible to order items in our webshop.

Restaurant and Café

The Prince’s Kitchen, situated in the museum, serves hot meals, beverages and delicious pasteries.

Café Ektorpet, situated in the park, offers waffles, a selection of lunch dishes, sandwiches and pastries.
